Good afternoon Parents and Guardians,
Thankfully we started our week as lovely as we ended, with the weather simply perfect for our Jump rope dance party!! Your donations helped to raise just over $1030 for the Heart and Stroke foundation.
Thank you to everyone who helped make Staff Appreciation week a very delicious one! The little notes of appreciation slipped in with the treats were very nice to read by all staff.
Speaking of appreciation, please let me give my Grade 6 teachers, Ms. Coupland and Ms. Ewasyke a BIG thank you spending 2 nights and 3 days out at Kamp Kiwanis with their grade 6 students. It’s something our grade 6 look forward to every year and it would not happen without teachers willing to go. You are troopers!

HIBOU’s Recipe Book Submission Extension
We have extended the due date to submit recipes to Monday, May 13. You have one more weekend to help build our recipe collection by sharing a special one of yours. Thank you to those parents who have submitted a recipe so far. Full details about this initiative were sent out a couple of weeks ago, but the main details that you need to know are as follows:
Steps
- Please make a copy of this google doc
- Type out the information (name, ingredients, method of how to cook, story behind it and input image)
- Rename the file your child’s first name and last name
- Please drag/”copy to” into the google folder
Our School Survey for Grades 4-6 Only
Grades 4 - 6 will be participating in an online school perception survey for students called the OurSCHOOL Student Survey. This anonymous survey is completely voluntary for all CBE students. CBE’s Education Plan prioritizes student voice and well-being in our decision-making processes. Responses from this survey are used at the system and school level to recognize and improve what is necessary for students to feel safe, welcome, and cared for when at school. Safety Reminders
As teachers like to take students outside as often as possible, it might not be a bad idea to add sunscreen to your child’s backpack if this is something you are comfortable with.
